Throughout December and January Monmouthshire County Council are hosting a wide range of activities for people of all ages to enjoy during the festive period.

Begin the seasonal fun and frolics with a Party Night at The Shire Hall on Friday 1st December. The evening offers a wide range of options to help as many people to start their festive fun in style. Book a place and prepared to be wowed with a 2 course meal, disco and dancing, price per person £30.00, groups of 10-12 people can book a private dining experience at £40.00 per person or finish off the night with a dance for £10.00 per person. Travel back in time for medieval banquet at Caldicot Castle on Saturday 2nd December 7pm-11.30pm. Musicians and singers will be entertaining alongside an array of music, storytelling and sumptuous dining. Contact Caldicot Castle for a truly unique evening: www.caldicotcastle.co.uk

Join the Father Christmas for a lantern parade in Monmouth, on Friday 8th December 6.30pm – 8.00pm. The procession begins outside Handyman House and will progress through town and finish of at the Shire Hall.

There will be carol singing along the way and at the Shire Hall, then Christmas stalls offering great late night shopping until 8pm

Hubs across Monmouthshire will be providing a wide range of activities to connect all members of the community.

A truly festive feast is taking place at Abergavenny Hub on Friday 8th December 11.00am – 2.00pm. The My Day My Life community café will be serving hot turkey rolls and delicious beverages. Local radio station, Able Radio will be providing entertainment and music, the station provides opportunities for people with learning disability to learn new skills and showcase their presenting and producing talents.

Usk Hub Christmas Market takes place on Saturday 2nd December the merriment begins at 10.00am – 3.00pm. Local crafts will be on sale, homemade cakes, and activities for all ages. For more information contact 01291 426888.

Caldicot Hub will be hosting a range of activities in December and January. Children aged 4 years to 8years old can make a range of Christmas Crafts and enjoy a storytelling session on Saturday 9th December, from 10:30 to 11:30am.

On Wednesday 13th December 9:00am to 12:00pm Caldicot Hub presents a Fair Trade Christmas Fayre in partnership with Caldicot Co-Op. Residents are welcomed to sample a mince pie and coffee whilst listening to Christmas Readings which are taking place 10:30 am – 11:30am.

Banish the half term blues with a Lego Workshop which is taking place Wednesday 3rd January from 10:30am to 11:00am at Caldicot Hub for children aged 5 years to 9 years old.

The fantastic Monmouthshire Games is back by popular demand offering children and young people aged 5-12 years the opportunity to meet new friends and keep fit and healthy. The Games commence on Tuesday 2nd January and end on Friday 5th January. Two options are available 9:00am – 3:00pm, £16.00 per day, Monmouthshire Games PLUS offers an extended session starting at 8:00am – 5:00pm for £19.50 per day.
