Community sports clubs across Monmouthshire are being encouraged to apply for funding of up to £1,500 from the Sport Wales Community Chest fund.

Funding can be used to increase participation and raise the standards of clubs or projects in Monmouthshire. The application can be completed online and is an easy way to gain extra funds to help grass roots sport.

Cabinet Member for Leisure Cllr Bob Greenland said:

‘I really hope that local sports clubs apply for the funding. Funding schemes such as this are essential in helping to support the wellbeing of residents now and in the future.’

Paul Sullivan, Monmouthshire Sports Development officer said:

‘We are happy to help any clubs or projects to complete the application form. The Community Chest Fund is so important for local clubs it can help get more children, young people and adults get hooked on sport.’
