Caldicot Castle takes a step back into the past this Christmas as it hosts two festive medieval banqueting evenings providing partygoers with an original celebration for this year’s festive season.  The castle is an ideal setting for such occasions and its sumptuous dining areas as well as its beautiful surroundings offer a magical atmosphere, particularly at this special time of year.

Entertainment featuring musicians and singers will transport revellers back in time with an array of entertainment, melodies and storytelling.  On the table will be a sharing platter of cold meats and local cheeses with fruit followed by a delicious home-made Welsh cawl – slow braised lamb with roasted vegetables – while Monmouthshire Pudding with cream and mead round off the menu.  A vegetarian option will be provided and special diets can be accommodated.  A full bar will be available.

Both events run from 7pm to 11.30pm and take place on Saturday 2nd and Saturday 16th December.  Tickets are just £50 each or £40 for a party of 20 or more.  For tickets or details call 01 291 426405.

Councillor Bob Greenland, Monmouthshire’s cabinet member with responsibility for leisure said: “Caldicot Castle with its atmospheric surroundings is the ideal place to celebrate Christmas.  The festive banqueting evenings promise to be a highlight of the festive season.”
