Monmouthshire County Council (with Transition Monmouth and Natural Resources Wales) will host a public workshop at Monmouth’s Shire Hall from 1.30pm to 4pm on Friday 8th September when staff from consulting engineers W S Atkins will be available to discuss flood prevention in the area. This is a drop-in session with tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
The study covers Monmouth and surrounding areas including Skenfrith, Dingestow, Newcastle and Trelech. Please come and tell us if you know of roads in that area prone to flooding. W S Atkins will provide maps and would be grateful to receive your comments and observations. They are very keen to obtain local knowledge of areas at risk and areas that could be developed.
We look forward to seeing you, but if you cannot attend we would still like you to contribute. You can tag locations on the Transition Monmouth mapping portal – https://arcg.is/0KXfCz – relating to flooding, opportunities for holding back flood water and opportunities for hydropower schemes. You can also email information to firstname.lastname@example.org and Andy.Gill@atkinsglobal.com.
